All Over

Peter Hitchens has given up, on immigration (as well as everything else):

Once [illegal immigrants are] in, our own treasured freedoms work against us. Thanks to centuries of island freedom, when we were able to decide who came in and who didn’t, it is far easier to disappear in Britain than in almost any other country in the world. We’ll abolish those freedoms in the end, alas, but it won’t do any good. […] And now the expensive navies of the EU are ferrying thousands more across the Mediterranean each week. The people-smugglers are saving a fortune on fuel, for they know their victims will be picked up before they are halfway across, in what are misleadingly described as ‘rescues’. […] The only thing that will stop the flow is when the EU countries, including ours, become so like the places these people are fleeing from that there is no point in coming any more.

“Cowering in the shadow of its gods, humanity is the project of a definitive abrogation of expenditure, and is thus an impossibility. The humanizing project has the form of an unsustainable law.” – can’t recollect who said that 😉

The gentle descent of Britain into genteel poverty has turned into a swan dive, with the final destination a multi-cultural 3d world hellhole….

The more I think about it the more I think VXXC is correct:

The only thing that will motivate people now for action is a Western version of Muhammad.

I.e. a Hitler with less crazy in him. No thanks. Europe will dislike and distrust that sort of man for a very long time. It’s really too bad for the ummah that their Prophet was so good at winning.

All over = just beginning. We need something to conquer and perhaps it is the previous version of ourselves.

    E. Antony Gray (@RiverC) Reply:

Conquest can only happen with a correct pretext, else it will not be just and the conquerors will just be robbers. What better context than a real crusade (nevermind that it was only necessary because our ancestors screwed the pooch.)

Predictions to this end change daily though; bifurcations are event horizons – one certainly cannot see through them.

PH’s style of running commentary regarding decay is only intriguing so long as you continue to pretend that leftward drift (read, decay) is preventable or reversible, and so I suspect most readers here will have moved on from PH fandom.

Once decay accelerates into completely open, prancing desecration, PH’s writing also becomes rather redundant – the news no longer requires commentary to serve as an autobiographic post-mortem for the future historian.

A career crisis was inevitable, this post suggests to me that it has arrived. I was surprised to read PH is actually content to simply continue ‘recording the absurdities of the age’. I was secretly banking on a complete conversion to history writing and/or Islam.

Or unless there is massive unexpected resistance by marginalized nihilists, like a deliberate radiation release near the government district with no casualties but ‘necessitating’ a trillion Euro cleanup, or a Sarin attack more successful than what Aum Shinrikyo managed in Tokyo twenty years ago.
