Anti-NAM politickers, and AAs themselves, are just as lost when it comes to AAs. Why does a population with supposedly strong family values, low time preference, lacking pathological altruism, still vote for the same party as NAMs?

Philadelphia has a known problem with Black-on-Asian crime. Yet 91% of Asians in Pennsylvania voted for Obama.

"Cultural Marxism"? A lot of Vietnamese-Americans are *literally* anti-Commnist refugees, and they're swing voters.

China has affirmative action, but it is done out of mollification, not egalitarianism. Not to mention the regional quotas which hurt students in poorer provinces.

I've had two students at my university tell of the same experience. One of them was actually in charge of some Women in STEM program on campus, but she would say point-blank that it's a bullshit thing she has to do if she wants to get scholarship money.

The other was one of the most technically competent people I've ever met, a bit shy, but obviously high IQ. She had no interest in The Cause, so she obviously hadn't found many opportunities in the university to put her skills to use, so, instead, she had recently just started her own web design business and was even thinking about leaving school early to concentrate on it.

Anyway, I still hope all this diversity-mongering in tech is just squid-ink. Hopefully, a decade from now, those numbers will look about the same. I mean, honestly, a tech company that isn't mostly white and Asian is bound to be as much of a failure as an NBA team that's mostly, well, White and Asian.

The way they go about it drives a wedge into their potential supporters, and it's not just the Asian vs NAM thing. Slate has a continuous stream of articles about trying to get women into STEM that is informative about the mindset. I used to figure that if you were a girl in STEM it would be an easy path to scholarships, but it turns out it's not that simple. My girlfriend is a double STEM major with a 4.0, but she can't get any of the girl in STEM scholarship money. The reason is that she doesn't do anything to promote the girls in STEM crusade (because she doesn't give a damn about their crusade other than getting herself through school), this is how the money is allotted (also the whole being white thing). It makes it crystal clear to her that they don't care about promoting science but rather an agenda. I think things like this make it easier for her to put up with my political rants. She did manage to get some more money through a summer internship with NASA that she just started so I'm not too worried about her.
