Ebola Links

Don’t be alarmed: “Ebola now has its first diagnosis in the U.S., and while concerning, it’s not entirely surprising. Given how interconnected our world is, the CDC has long said that it’s possible Ebola could make it here, though it’s unlikely it would spread widely. Here’s what you need to know …” (Well, maybe just a little alarmed. (Or …))

Ezra Klein is on my unbelievably annoying people list, but he was only a kid when he got there, and this (interview) is really good work. Some additional recent articles, in escalating order of panic, plus some geopolitical complication.

Then there’s the weird stuff. We all know where that road leads

ADDED: Ebola-Chan and teleological discipline.

ADDED: Even Chris Matthews is getting agitated. Still, USG is remaining calm. Thanks to Manticore for getting this started:

Okay, can we please knock it off with the 4channies offering oblations to Ebola-chan every time the subject comes up?

Oh come on, it’s festive. Like potpourri.

Doesn’t matter too much I think. We can get back to the antechamber of horror soon enough. No one from 4chan or reddit will survive any of Land’s posts.

Oh don’t you wish. I first started reading our humble leader’s stuff the same semester I started visiting a certain anonymous anime image-board.

Unfortunately, Western do-gooders will defeat Gnon’s attempt at stabilization for too long, but not long enough.

Yeah, what he said. Nobody said NRx is a no-fun-allowed space. Even Land appears to be enjoying himself, after all.

Surprising that Ebola hasn’t broken out in Britain already, considering how Africans bring an estimated 7,500 tons of illicit “bush meat” into the country every year –

Nostalgic consumption of monkeys, gorillas and chimpanzees could provide more of a “taste of home” than bargained for.

@Puzzle Pirate: I am not a coward [so far]. I draw the stupid Irish brave line at disease. As Holy Water employed by my ancestors to this day probably won’t work RUN MOTHERFUCKER RUN.

You geniuses do realize that epidemics/pandemics response and treatment are indeed the final monopoly of the State, yes?

This doesn’t destroy the Cathedral. Ebola restores it to the monopoly of power, all life [they have the crypto-locks on LIFE that is any protocol drugs, or any treatment at all], they have Quarantine and screening powers.

Disease is the final monopoly of the State. Unlike Fiat our Gold, BITCOIN cannot replace it.
Not that in real life they have the largest pile of gold and complete power over bitcoin. The Internet can be disabled remotely at a touch from them, they control telecommunications transmissions. At least in the US they do. You’ve always been the delusional brats on this, as you are on Ebola.

Having never seen mass death or suffering or felt it’s touch [natural cause passing not the same] you think this will be fun. You are delusional, also frankly kids talking shit. Which is what will be excreting from you instantly upon reality’s brutal embrace.

Disease Control is the final monopoly of the State. Ebola is a miracle for the Cathedral. It saves them.

    Rasputin Reply:

It depends on the level of the outbreak and the location. If it is remote and distant but with a threat of arriving on our (Western) shores then I think it could be difficult for the Cathedral, problematising things it had been making progress on (racial integration, open boarders, etc). If it arrives in the West and goes hyperbolic, well, then all bets are off – it will be murder, and anything could arise from the ashes of some serious pwnage by Reality.
