The themes and factions were created more along the lines of ideology. Neo-spartans, Capitalists, Religious fundamentalists(Mormon?), UN (has bureacratic penalty), Communists (huge economic penalty, good at repression) and mad scientists. And Greens.
No cousin marriage, sadly.
One of the best games of its type, though it wasn’t really finished. Featured a lot of good quotes, half classics and half made up in-universe ones and even a story-line of sorts.
I have a vague memory of the late A.J.P. Taylor appearing on some UK chat show and being asked what his solution to the Middle East Problem was. The reply: drop a nuclear bomb on the area…
If they keep exporting democracy over there so enthusiastically, soon it will be as thoroughly destroyed as Detroit. Only safe place to be an arab will be Germany, maybe Rotherham.
In regards to the Arab world – has the practice of polygamy left a mark on the genepool there? Do polygamists have a certain set of personality traits which can spread due to the practice?
Is that the reason the Arabs are so famously hard to get along with? There is Muslims in Indonesia too, and they don’t have quite the same mentality.
Some of the muslim areas there supposedly even practice matriarchy in a way – men bring their wages to their wives and the wife gives them back their spending money..
