Kahneman is a singular and unusual thinker. If one makes somebody like Kahneman supreme monarch, one may run into quite a lot of problems when it comes time to name a successor. (A problem once faced by many dynasties — as the people who established them tended to be far more able than their descendants!)

Moldbug once, in a sort of half-joking manner, suggested that Charlie Stross be made King. This was, I’d reiterate, framed as a sort of joke — a punch-line… but I don’t think that it’s a bad idea. The fact that Stross is fundamentally a pop-techno-futurist with a more-or-less optimistic perspective, and the fact that he’s intelligent and thoughtful enough to sustain a coherent vision of the future, actually recommend him to that sort of position. The rest can be learned.

It is doubtful dear Kahneman would accept his new position, but he serves as a great reference point.

Especially this particular attack.
As you point out, nowadays you can gain a lot of status by simply preaching the Faith of the Cathedral. You are automatically “above” anyone else in society who is not in line with The Scripture.
When neoreactionaries talk about returning to monarchy or about other speculative social arrangements the progressive is confused because he doesn’t find any mechanism (for the neoreactionary) of gaining social status similar to the one he himself is relying on when Preaching the Faith.
This reveals the fact that the progressive is a status whore and is utterly uncapable of comprehending other people not being status whores. He is projecting. For him everyone just HAS to be a status whore so he concludes that all neoreactionaries must implicitly assume that they will somehow be high status (by definition) in their alternative social arrangements even if they do not explicitly talk about why or how will that happen.

In short, all progressives are power-hungry status whores who would sell their soul to the devil just so they can satisfy their inferiority complex and they project this on everyone else.

That’s just it. The apparent propositional content is epiphenomenal.
