this reminded me Under the Skin, both films not appears so convincing to me. Conceptually fragmented, missing on dominate, pretentiously emotionally withdrawn. Rage and fury is internal dominating force of such characters, it is impossible to become so internally burned out. They are not kind forgiving personalities – rage and fury in always there. Another similar character in Book of Eli. Their performance highly unconvincing and deeply disconnected from the characters they play. I guess to reach such emptiness take more then living in 5 start hotels and dining with super beautiful girlfriend. But in real world such people exists. For example Russian mafia guys often killing their victims by hitting with knife into the eye. May appears like crazy act performed by derailed person with purpose of sending some terrifying message. But in fact they do that because many of their friends been executed in Russian prisons and as prove of death stainless steel talon was in inserted into with executed person eye. Then photographed and filed.
