The guy’s an unsung hero, and is willing to work with people of any ideological persuasion, occasionally at cost to himself. When I was on the hunt for new foreign policy writers he offered to let the Caller run TomDispatch posts even if we couldn’t pay for them, in hopes that more conservative news junkies might start seing the anti-empire line. For a couple of reasons I wasn’t able to accept — one being that I would have felt like we were taking advantage — but it was a very selfless thing to do, and he has my respect and admiration for it.
