Quote note (#230)

Things are going to get a lot more ugly, before this is over. This is high amygdala, on all sides, from the conservatives who can’t take the delusions that are leading us to doom and failure, to the liberals who are panicking and breaking mentally, as reality becomes unavoidable.

As crazy as it is to contemplate, this is barely a smidgen into the apocalypse. We are still swimming in wealth compared to what is to come.

When the real apocalypse hits, I’d bet on mortality, and a fair amount of it.

We should be hoping for a cleansing civil war and also should not allow progressives to live among us.

    Good times are coming.

For those who survive, probably in smaller communities.

You don’t need a war. Just cut all funding from progressive institutions – it’ll have the same effect without the sacrifice.

With the DC Establishment and the Soros/Ayres/Bernie thugs both attacking free speech, and cheering on violent mobs, events are taking a very nasty turn for the worse. And I am discovering that some of my friends are little better than useful idiots for the Bolsheviks.

… not that we have many choices. Democratic, political choices are a joke and a personal choice like living in the woods stockpiling canned food and ammo just makes you prime target for any roving gang whose boss is not caring so much about having a few casualties during the assault.

I cannot prove it directly, but everything NRx taught me how inherently social humans are and in what ways, survival even in a Mad Max / Post-Roman Dark Ages V2.0 like will probably depend far more on the kind of political skill it is precisely Cathedral Progs are being good at. I have seen somewhere that British and Irish people have very similar genetics, suggesting not only the Celtic people survived the various Germanic invasions of the Post-Roman era pretty well but even more astonishingly their men managed to reproduce. That suggests adapting to the new overlords and keeping a fairly good chunk of status, or even using the new situation to gain more in a majordomo style. Quisling ain’t just a Norwegian surname. Figuring out the new power centers and making a career at them will be the crucial survival skill not stockpiling or investing into gold, and I have hunch reactionaries will suck at it – usually, refusing even to try.

@pyrrhus The same people who accuse him of being a threat to democracy cheer on thuggish intimidation and assassination attempts. The face of liberalism gets uglier every day. The Trump phenom is showing just how much rot has always been hiding under the fascade.

Vegas should start offering odds on whether he will still be alive in 2017.

Yeah, and when the next hurricane hits, I’d bet on wind, and a fair amount of it. It’s not really an apocalypse without mass death, is it?

Yeah if you’re not loaded for Bear and prepped with supplies there’s still time.

That’s loaded for Bear not Beer. < and here we shall see who's standing after it's not fun.

Also and more important: Get your own Gang as John Robb says.

I prefer the term Squad but you get the point.

A lot of decrepit elderly persons in various facilities would probably perish first if civil society collapsed significantly.

I consider it rational to prefer death to retirement homes, palliative care wards and asylums.
