McCarthy’s consistent in his aversion to Islamists. I don’t think he fetishizes Al Qaeda (except as a lawyerly way of referencing 9/11).

Can you use yourself though? I admit that might be “splitting hairs”. Like Syria, the driving force is Western Intelligence/Resources, supplemented with regional support (hello Saudi Bin Ladens), utilizing the supranational mercenary force known as Al Qaeda. As any nation has its disgruntled minorities, those actual participatory nationals are irrelevant to the actual conflict.

I read “Willful Blindness”. And a few of his columns. He can’t quite internalize despite endless agonizing and the conclusion in his own words start to finish that the best things Lawyers should do in war is BE SILENT and the next best thing is to run massive and relentless interference for the warrior.

The defects, distortions and Talmud on meth logic are endless as a result.
