Humanities, as a rubric, serves only as a vestigial reminder of the ‘human’. Its denigration indicates only that most species activity is ‘inhuman’. You should be pleased at the apparent hegemony of such ‘technocommercial’ functionality. Your own itinerary is an honest reflection of this.

The containment of the culture of ‘subjective experience’, in the discourse of the human, serves multiple functions: the legitimation of what counts as ‘human'; various privilegings & tactical devaluations; the production of designed sentiment which can be weaved into business, Hollywood entertainment & politics, if there’s a difference.
