I think these might be two separate paths, actually? Here’s my anecdote and analysis:

I got into it with an Armenian the other day. He’s perhaps a couple shades more swarthy than the average white guy and comes from a good town in north L.A.. Yet, as far as he is concerned, he’s not white, and he’s decidedly anti-Anglo. “I love my culture” and “I want to teach my kids Armenian values” came out of his mouth. He also said that poor whites have it better than upper-middle class Armenians, and as a budding academic, he’s committed to toppling the Anglo-Saxon “privilege structure,” which, to him, is purely ethnic. He doesn’t care about class.

I’m from the L.A. region, so I have plenty of experience with many different tribes, and in each one, there are those who would say the same things. They want nothing to do with class consciousness; racial and ethnic consciousness is their entire reason-for-being. (Hence why 98% of blacks voted for Obama; economic concerns didn’t blip on their radars.) In order to make any real waves, unrest from the lower, un-employable masses would need to cut across racial lines, but I don’t see that happening. Black and Mexican lower classes building bridges? Armenians joining hands in solidarity with the Irish?

Racial/ethnic/religious tribal consciousness is anathema to the Marxist goal of an international working class. The Left long ago decided to jettison class consciousness and to dedicate itself to ‘giving a voice’ to every last tribe on earth (i.e., democracy). Will the coming robot economy change the Left’s course back to Marxism? Again, I have my doubts. The roots of any future unrest will of course be economic, not racial. But if L.A. is any indication, when the violence erupts, people will band together as racial/ethnic tribes (into which they are already self-segregated) not as a multi-ethnic underclass marching to topple the multi-ethnic robotics engineers.

Why Japan?

As in a clue everyone’s stepping over? Then yes.

So, maybe something we need to look at are the Bitcoin differences.
