… even just the solar system. ‘Awesome’ is a word destroyed by casual over-use, but I’m groping for an alternative right now, and not finding it. This has to be one of the best uses of a website out there — meaning: really out there.

What do I win?
It’s a pretty great presentation. The text which appears intermittently throughout the whole thing starts to turn into an odd sort of meditation on whether or not one ought to be an optimist or pessimist — the quotes becoming increasingly more obscure and horrifying.
Here are my two favorite quotes: “”Sorry, Humanity,” says Evolution. “What with all the jaguars trying to eat you, the parasites in your fur, and the never-ending need for a decent steak, I was a little busy. I didn’t exactly have time to come up with a way to conceive of vast stretches of nothingness.”
“If the proton of a hydrogen atom was the size of the sun on this map, we would need 11 more of these maps to show the average distance to the electron.”
All in all, since most of it is just a black monitor, I found myself staring at my reflection and admiring my own sexiness. So I suppose that makes me an optimist. Or a narcissist. Or both.

Might as well stop now. We’ll need to scroll through 6,771 more maps like this before we see anything else.”
Was faster than light! lol

Your link to Steve Sailer’s blog in the sidebar should go to “www.unz.com/isteve” now I think.

No way I would scroll all the way without cheating. Too ADD-sy for that.

Had I decided to scroll all the way BACK, I probably would have been imbued with Christ-like wisdom.
Oh well.

@Exfernal
Same here “No way I would scroll all the way” in either way … hopelessness, that is what about this thing.

How daunting is this compared to say building the first pyramids with muscle, eyeballs and rocks?
Let’s tidy up with this old 20th century business and get back out there.
People can keep up or rot.
And if anyone gets in the way: Lever 1.
