It’s as if back then they were pretty lost and sorely needed some free copies of Epictetus, particularly as there was no internet yet, to learn them some resilience.

Now? Since black party music is the default pop product, the political variant merely has to say “I’m more pointed than the party boom boom boom”. No bother to express why what they’re saying matters at all, even if through sorrowful drumming.
