Twitter cuts (#115)

It’s almost impossible to over-estimate how important this is (and the trend matters more than the current level). Regime legitimacy is sunk in radical crisis.

Yesterday’s press conference showed that Trump is winning, and the MSM are in disarray. Trump should do pressers more often, at least once a week, and he should hold rallies regularly to keep his supporters aroused. And, yes, I know the historic precedents, and that they worked. We’re in a war here, not a high school debate. Victory is mandatory for us and our children.

{AK}: Here we have a typical example of the new political veracity! Where the USA’s ontology is always explicitly in accord with its citizens wishes, and with its great ‘American dream’!
Here we see the true nature of American innovation, in this almost Nietzschean overcoming of its own chronological traditions! Were not those traditions incubated in a tired old Europe, anyway? Is the USA to be bound by such exhaustion? Not at all, our meditations are always untimely! We are not ‘midnightly men’! No petty tain of temporality, stains our implacable whims! Our cruelest, meanest deceptions, are incomparably greater than the greatest of truths originating in any other order but our own. No other truth, is more worthy of expression than this fact! A fact that we can never tire of repeating, no others need be known or learnt!
And though, to others, we may appear to be clowns, jesters, and fools, our every stumbling is but another Glory they never understand, that adds to our rule!
And after all this, when we rest amid the cicadas and cacti, uttering some casual untruth, this only further testifies to our spontaneity and spirit of innovation, because it is a ‘new’ truth, a miraculous one which requires no proof!
Did we not go to the Moon!?
    Is the earth not round!?

    Artxell Knaphni Reply:

{AK}: The incredible irony, of a Neoreactionary blog attempting to report on increasing loss of trust in the organs of mass media of a ‘regime’ it condemns as untruthful; to a readership of ‘All-Trite’ cronies; for the purposes of ecstatically communing over their ‘darkly enlightened’ and ‘real’ truth!
Only to have one of those cronies, produce a complete and utter lie!
On the same page and post, as the evidence demonstrating its falsity!

So incredibly traumatised by Puritan ideology, even more than the so-called ‘Social Justice Warriors’ and ‘Cathedral universalism’ they despise, the ‘All-Trite’ have lost all conception of truth, no longer recognising any of its forms. Yet, held hostage by some dull and dimwitted sense of obligation to produce truth, they randomly crank out word-like sounds, as ritualistic offerings to a god of truth they never really understand, and by which they have been utterly abandoned.
Given that so-called ‘white privilege’ is actually an inability to tell the truth, it’s understandable that the ‘All-Trite’ feel victimised, and resent the publicising of other victimisations over their own.
Obviously, a lying public would never trust a truthful mass media, even if one existed. A lying president, however, truly reflects the voters. By avowedly offering lies as truths, Donald Trump, does not merely acknowledge the victimization of ‘white privilege’, as an act of pity, but heroically stands with all who share the inability to convey truth. By this one gesture, he has liberated the USA from the shackles of its Puritan trauma, from its tiresome, veridical burden, and ushered in a new era of multicultural diversity no longer bound by the singular, tyrannical conception of universal truth.

If we want real victory we should recognize Trump as the pretense of a hero that he is. This is a democracy! In four years or eight years, or maybe even 16 years we’re going to have another shitlib in office that will simply reverse all rightism instantiated under Trump. We need to torch the Constitution and start from scratch. Is Trump going to do that? With his exciting little press conference spectacles? And “Wall”? So many alt-right and NRx people since the election have seriously let me down. Bunch of democratic normies after all.

Listening to the media projecting and whining after the Trump presser yesterday reminded me that the Cathedral can’t stanch their wounds. How dare someone suggest that the media is not legitimate — i.e., how dare some usurp our position! Without us, the earth would spin of its axis. “We don’t report the news, we write it.”

You know they’re hurting when they say “Fourth Estate.”

NB: As others have noted, don’t get TOO sanguine about Trump. And most assuredly don’t forget the leftist correction in the works. It is so tempting to let your guard down but … never do that.

  • G. Eiríksson Says:

» Schmitt’s argument is rather that entire ways of thinking about politics — the dominant political preconceptions of an age, that which is prior to and separate from political philosophy insofar as it consists precisely of that which is not debated or questioned in the political thought of a given period — can be profitably understood only in terms of their relation to the dominant theological views of the age, thereby partaking of their sovereign prescriptive nature. Examples of ‘dominant political preconceptions of an age’ that remain unquestioned and which lack open debate are: the existence of God in Medieval Christian political thought and life 2 ; the equal moral worth of all persons in the modern West; the worldwide expansion and penetration of economic markets known as ‘globalisation’ (there is plenty of anti-globalisation rhetoric and activity, but it is not questioned among those with the power to stop it); and more to Schmitt’s point, that in a liberal, parliamentary age the idea of anti-liberal or non-parliamentarian political alternatives is not seriously considered. If Schmitt is correct, authentic 3 political philosophy has never really existed, or at least it has not existed during modern times. Schmitt’s characterisation of the dominant political tendencies of each historical period would seem to illustrate that the traditional claim of political philosophy to keep alive the possibility of (or even the awareness of) the fundamental political alternatives is false because the political thought of an age is largely determined by its politics, and its politics is largely a consequence of its theological (or ideological) dispensation. »

  • Erebus Says:

    The trend continues.

    1) The graph which shows that 32% of Americans trust the mass media is old — dated Sept. 7-11, 2016.
    2) At that time, 51% of Democrats claimed to trust the mass media. Republicans and independents, at 14% and 30% respectively, were far less trusting.
    3) In the aftermath of a surprise Trump victory, and increasingly hysterical and irrelevant media coverage, Independents and Democrats have surely lost a great deal of trust in the mass media. As, of course, have Republicans.
    4) The current number is certainly not 32%, but is probably somewhere in the mid teens. (Low single digits for Republicans.)

…And then one can go a step further. Of the people who were polled, how many were too stupid to understand the question? How many told the pollster, “yeah, sure, I trust the media,” in an attempt to seem nice?

“Americans simply and truly don’t trust the mass media” is a factual statement. It’s over for them. I don’t see how they can recover the trust they once possessed.

Attacking PewDiePie was a huge error, and I’m not joking about that. He as 53 million subscribers & earns 16 million/year off of youtube. PDP hates the media now. Media long for its own death – I’m convinced.
