Moron bites (#4)

Social Darwin Awards contender ‘Comix Experience’ [sic]:

We’re for a living wage, for a minimum wage, in principle. … But I think any law that doesn’t look at whether people can pay may not be the best way to go.”

More backdoor socialism, setting the minimum amount labor is worth even if it is done incompetently. And conveniently hemmed in by anti-discrimination law which makes it difficult/risky to fire anyone.

You trimmed the next line, which I thought was the peak of the moronitude:

““Why,” he asks, “can’t two consenting people make arrangements for less than x dollars per hour?”

Lol. I wonder if the irony even computes for that guy.

What cis scum shitlord came up with that law? Looks like the corporate cronies in SF blocked the passage of a living wage. I saw a statistic the other day that adjusted for inflation, the minimum wage should be $18 /hr. SF is one of the more expensive cities in America. $20/ hr won’t go far there. Raise it to $22!

Get a progressive running a business and they find themselves in contact with what must at first seem like implacable eldritch currents on a day to day basis. The continued presence of something beyond them breaks the shell they’ve constructed their world in, and even the most dedicated Cathedral acolyte bends knee toward the old god when the rain doesn’t fall.

You can’t make high-status work go out of business! Minimum wages are for punting low-status people out of work!

Jack it all the way up nationwide, make everyone employees of the state and finance it all with debt. Being the global reserve currency means you don’t have to worry about debt, so run it to the moon. I’m running the people’s party of populist politics, promising high paying cushy jobs for everybody. If If you don’t like it then you don’t understand mainstream economics or hate people because you want to deny them high paying cushy jobs that could be made right now just with some harmless debt. Allocation of scarce goods and services? Pfft, that’s what other countries are for, they’ll take our dollars and debt no matter what to give us all the goods and services we want, scarcity is a boogeyman made up by fringe economists to scare children.
